Dan is currently one of the foremost professional clowns and physical theater creators working in the Bay Area today. His original works have been performed in over 25 countries world wide and for the last two decades here in the United States. He inspires young performers of the Academy of Art University and American Conservatory Theater actor training programs to temper their craft through mask, mime, clown, and structured spontaneity. Dan was one of the lucky few to have studied at the Goldston and Johnson School for Mimes where among many other world renowned performer/ instructors he studied under Marcel Marceau.
Today Dan holds the position of Associate Director of San Francisco's Clown Conservatory where he works to spawn the future of clowning in America. Through his company Clown Zero he aids the production of over a hundred new works a year helping them tour all over the world. And in his "spare time" he engages in what he terms "shamanic clowning" - which uses satire as a means to heal, instruct, and guide the members of his growing community. A practice he adopted through his close connection with the Koshari clowns of the First Nations people of America's Southwest.
